Wotlk Wow: Naxx10/25 Cleared, OS 10/25 Cleared, Malygos 10 Cleared, Ulduar 10/25 Cleared (except Algalon on both 10 and 25), ToC 10/25 Cleared, ToGC 10/25, 10 cleared, 25 2 first bosses down, ICC 10/25, on 10 7 bosses down, on 25 6 bosses down (only been pugging ICC so far).
All these different boss killings has been on different characters, like in wow classic i played my hunter most, and got a good raiding progress. and in TBC i mostly played this char first as enhancement and later as restoration, and its been resto ever since. In Wotlk i lvled this char first and after a while i lvled my pala and got to join BL after a few weeks at 80 so most Wotlk kills are made with my pala.

Well im Andreas, im from Sweden. I work during the day and play wow during the evening and sometimes during the night
Ive been playing wow for about 4-5 years. Raided as a hunter in wow classic until TBC when i changed to Shaman, and i played it until a few weeks after Wotlk came out. i got tired of the game and took a break, i started again after a few months by lvling my pala. when i reached 80 with it i worked hard to gear fast, and i got to join Borderland. I got kicked from Borderland after a couple of months for being MiA (missing in action) well i had to move IRL and i had problems getting my internet to work and my computer broke and so on. so i wasnt online for a couple of months.

Well thats all from me hope it wasnt to hard on u to read my boring story.
when i applyed to BL one of their members wanted a joke from me. But ill give u guys one instead to compensate for my boring story its very old so most of u probably have read it already, but for the ones who havent, Enjoy

(The following events are a Warrior talking to a GM about a Shaman he found that he thought was using hacks, The Warrior will be reffered to as WR and the GM...GM..>)

WR: Id like to file a report on a shaman using hacks.

GM: Certainly tell me his name and what happened.

WR: Well his name is OvErPoWaReD and this is what happened, I see this guy mining some stuff so I decide to leave him alone, Then he lighting bolts me, Then when im running at him this is when the first hack comes into play, GET THIS he uses his frost shock move that has a 50% slowing speed FOR EIGHT SECONDS!

GM: No, that's not a hack. That's the correct time.

WR:...But isn't the cooldown six seconds?

GM: Correct.

WR: Wait a min...nevermind anywho after he kites me with this for awhile I finally resist one and come in for some melee (Keep in mind im at half health from the shocks) I expect this wimp caster to pull out ya know like a staff or dagger...What does he whip out? A frickin Arcanite Reaper!

GM:Yep shamans can use 2h axes and 2h Maces...

WR:...Really?

GM: Ya rly.

WR:uhh..ok then but HERE IS A DEFINITE HACK. While I was fighting him in melee, Im getting struck with 300 plus damage every time I swing! Then he's throwing in hits that come in 3 swings a flash and each hit a higher number than the last!

GM: That would be his lightning shield and his windfury.

WR: Woah, Isn't that kinda cheap?

GM: I don't program the shaman sir, but please continue.

WR: Well by this point I have to hamstring him and go back to use a runecloth bandage for a heal bringing me back up to 75%, Then when im about to reingage a rouge comes up from behind him and starts killing him, when he starts fighting the rouge, I rejoin the attack, after awhile we kill him... the rouge hearthed and as I was walking away not more than eight seconds after we killed him HE POPS BACK UP LIKE A NINJA ZOMBIE then casts an insta heal for 1700 health!

GM: That would be his natures swiftness and his resurrection ability.

WR: Oh cmon! What the hell is this!

GM: The shaman...but please continue.

WR: Well then he starts setting down totems and I thought "Phew ill just destroy these little things with a thunder clap" I thunder clap, none of em go down! Definite Hack, Correct?

GM: Yep.

WR: Really?

GM: Nope just kidding, Totems arent affected by AOE attacks.

WR: For the love of Prickly Pete!

WR: Well after that a friendly druid ran by gave me some buffs and went on his way, then right as im about to reingage, he makes all the buffs go away!

GM: Yeah, that's his purge ability...

WR: Holy crap.

GM: Tell me about it.

WR: Did I mention this whole fight took place in the water, and he was walking on it?

GM: They can do that.

OK, question time:

Your meta, can you explain your choice in that?
You went for sp/mp5 chants in your shoulder and headslot while there are sp/crit ones available. Yet, you miss out on socket bonuses in chest and legs by not conforming to the blue gem where you could get mp5. So are you short on regen or not?
How do you keep track of the surging sea totem stacks?
I'm assuming that you used the tear (in head) to fulfill the meta requirements, but in resto shaman case that comes down to 10 int and 10 stamina (the rest not really impacting on our performance and all), would you say that's better than 12 sp/5mp5 or 10 haste/5mp5

And lastly, why doesn't armory show any activity on runetotem in the last 2 weeks. I can't do my job if the information is that outdated.

hmm the armory is outdated for my gear, sry about that but i dont know why it is like that. sadly as the forumnoob i am i cant link in here, but i can type the names of the gear and what ench/gems i have on them and hopefully u guys will be understanding

I have 3 new items that doesnt show on armory. Helm/Gloves/Shoulders.
and i did make some changes on gems to get the socket bonuses. i got some green mp5/haste and purple SP/MP5 gems, since when i had the old gear (Armory gear) i thought i had enough MP5, but latly ive noticed i go OOM more often then i did before, before i never did go OOM so this was a must.
but back to the new gear and ill start with the helm.

Helm: Ice-Reinforced Vrykul Helm: Enchant: 30SP/10MP5. Gems: 11MP5/3% extra healing effect, 12SP/10Haste (socket bonus yes)
Shoulders: Sanctified Frost Witch's Spaulders (Tier 10.5): Enchant: 24SP/8MP5. Gems: 12SP/5MP5 (socket bonus yes)
Gloves: Unclean Surgical Gloves: Enchant: 28SP. Gems: 12SP/5MP5, 12SP/10Haste (Socket Bonus yes).

to answer some questions, the meta. i used to use the other one, int + mana gain on cast. but i was told this one was better so i changed. the stat gem got changed some time ago, when it was a leftover from my other metagem, when i needed all 3 colors. i didnt care to change it since i was poor and so, but when i got the new helm i just used a different gem

Oh nvm what i said about (this might sound abit noobish but i have absolutly no idea what u mean with the (How do you keep track of the surging sea totem stacks?) question, sry but pls can i have an explanation and ill try to tell u ) i completly forgot the name of it but now i get what u ment and here is the answer. well might sound abit dumb or so but i have no real track of it, i just cast it very often, to keep the haste buff up and also the SP buff up that it gives. i also sometimes cast riptide even when not needed to recharge the timer. dont know if there is any addon that will help me notice it better since i dont use that many addons, just the important ones like DBM, Grid and most importantly Atlas loot might have missed some.
Sry about the constant reediting on this post but i keep on noticing my stupid misstakes and have to fix them

Well, let's see if I can help you out. I don't know where the person who told you this meta was better got his sources, but I'll point you toward the Elitist Jerks page. While this is by no means a bible or holy script they do tend to provide math. Not in the one I'm about to link though, that is more of a compilation.

This bit shows the mp5 provided by the int/mana regen meta. Which at the slowest cast provides more mp5 than the meta you have. I don't have easy access to calculations on the extra healing provided by the crit healing multiplier and can imagine it's fairly sizable. Probably more healing done than the intellect on insightful provides. mentions under which circumstances you might go for it, but no math
I pointed out the shoulder and head enchant is because with the improved water shield talent crit is just as viable a mana regen stat as is mp5, and it produces more output besides, specifically via ancestral awakening. The exact relation was in the theorycraft restoshaman archives which they recently purged, though for pure regen MP5 still beats crit if I am correct. Due to it being a result of a cast, it will actually give more mp5 per haste (Though keep in mind you will bleed mana faster as well due to having to cast those spells faster in the first place)

In current content and with the T10 set bonus riptide is probably cast often enough to keep the stack up continuously. I was just wondering.

About armory, it is like that throughout the server. Sarjin (the guild master), you, everyother applicant and myself would not have logged in for over 2 weeks if we may believe the armory. Hell, Sarjin could be on holiday, but I've certainly done stuff since then. I also haven't been able to verify the server first Lich King HM kill by KoH.

im very greatfull for every tips and pointers i get, so thx alot. and i will make the changes, it made alot of sence and i have some more updates about the gear since armory isnt working.
got new back/wrists/belt and i got 1 more upgrade on my ring, the revered one.
Back: Drape of the Violet Tower: Enchant: Haste 15 (will get higher but im lvling enchanting atm so i thought why not use my own enchant in the meanwhile ) Gem: 10Haste/5MP5
Wrists: Coldwraith Bracers: Enchant: 30SP. Gem: 12SP/10Haste
Belt: Deathspeaker Disciple's Belt: Gems: 3x 12SP/10Haste

But ill make the changes with the enchants and meta gem, so hopefully it will make u guys happier and my playing better

Well, due to RL stuff I haven't logged in for 2 weeks, so I'm probably not the best benchmark for that

For the rest, hi there Bärsärkar, and welcome to our forums. While I usually walk around in robes and fade whenever a mob runs for me and kill our Druids this way, I also have an alt Shaman I've been doing a fair bit of healing with, so for that reason also some bits of advice from my side:

*I've had major issues myself getting a decent second ring. However given the considerably higher value of haste compared to crit, you'd be better off with the Band of the Invoker.
*Since it only increases the passive component of your water shield, the Glyph of Water Mastery is 'just' an extra 30 mp5 buff which doesn't scale with gear, and therefore considered a relatively weak glyph. I'd suggest Glyph of Lesser Healing Wave instead, as it will improve your tank healing, which is fairly nice for especially 10 man content.
*In general I'd not go out of my way to get a socket bonus as Shaman, unless it's easy to obtain. (Which generally means I skip most of those involving a blue socket, aside from the obligatory gem needed to activate the meta) Experiences may vary when it comes to MP5 and mana regen, but in general the value of haste is so much beyond most other stats (about 50% more than spellpower) that you'd probably be best of gemming pure haste in most slots, while making sure you activate the meta and pick up easy and valuable socket bonuses. (For example items with yellow+red giving a spellpower bonus are usually a good idea to get the socket bonus from, such as the Coldwraith bracers) In general though for mana, I believe that normally with proper raid buffs (replenishment, kings, wisdom/mana spring), you should be fine in a raid healing role while gemming haste. Only fight where I really can get into trouble with mana is Blood Queen Lanathel, for the rest you should be allright really.
*The Shaman T10 set bonuses are quite powerful, so should you be able to spare the badges, it would be pretty worthwile. The 4p is especially strong in 25 man raids, though quite good for 10 man content as well. Head, Shoulders and Chest are obvious choices (as they have optimal Resto itemization), which will leave you with the choice of one of legs and gloves. Neither is ideal (crit+mp5), but overall due to the set bonus it's worth it. (Optimal option is likely crafted legs with set gloves, but if you have good gloves the legs would be an option too since the differences are fairly small)

first of all, thx for the welcome well u talk about replacing my WS glyph, sure i can do that, im always up for improving my self but to lesser healing, i dont use it that much, the heals i use the most, (in order) chain heal, riptide, healing wave and last lesser healing wave. i dont like lesser that much, takes so many heals to get the tank up to its max hp and my healing waves are most of the time very fast anyway and if it crits i get to heal on more person. only time i use lesser is on missclicks and when the tanks are very low on hp so i need quick heals to get the health up before the big one comes. but if its completly wrong of me im rdy to discuse or even maby change my way abit. as i said im always up for improvments

nevermind the part of me not using lesser in ICC, i tryed now on a icc10 raid, went awesome so ill change the glyph

ive been thinking all day at work, its been 18 days since i made this apply. i know ive had a small talk with lickmee, but ive also been looking around on other guilds aswell, i know that RB is in need of a resto shaman, and ive had a long talk with their healing officer. and i wanna try and make an apply there. but since i have one here i cant imo, its just rude to multi apply to many guilds at the same time. so ive desided to cancel this apply. really sry for waisting your time guys and thx for considering me.
